Good morning dear ones,  it’s so nice breaking our fast together. Sharing a lovely breakfast, just you, your Rev. – Tom Waits, Maggie Estep. Too bad I already used Breakfast by Le Le to open the last day of Black History Month. That also woulda been great here, and I’m sure I coulda found an equally great way to begin that. But no sense living in the distant past. We started this episode of off with Tom Waits ordering Eggs And Sausage from Nighthawks At The Diner. Then came Maggie Estep’s turn, and it’s No More Mister Nice Girl so she demanded a Vegetable OmeletI hope you’ve got room for more because today, the 16th day of October, is World Food Day. And we’re gonna try to keep it moving with the Hi De Ho Man himself, Mr. Cabell Calloway III

That was Chic ‘N’ Stu fromSystem Of A Down’s Steal This Album! A nod to the Abbie Hoffman counterculture Bible Steal This Book. Before SOAD we had Shonen Knife telling us to Eat It covering that Weird Al Yankovic. That was from the album Dr. Demento Covered In Punk. One with the likes of; The Dead Milkmen covering the Marx Brothers, Joan Jett doing Science Fiction / Double Feature, Weird Al covering the Ramones, William Shatner doing the CrampsThe Vandals, Adam West, Misfits, and Rasputina singing Those Two Dreadful Children, (I prefer the original which you may remember from back on March 14th) Prior to all that we heard Rusted Root. And we began it Everybody Eats When They Come To My House by Cab Calloway. You may remember him as Curtis inThe Blues Brothers. But if you wanna see something crazy-fun watch the couple of Max Fleischer cartoon with him. Betty Boop and Snow White and The Old Man and the Mountain.

Then came Louie Prima Beepin’ & Boppin’ along to tell us Yes, We Have No Bananas. And then, from his practically perfect record Sin & Soul… And Then Some, we heard Oscar Brown Jr. introducing us to the Watermelon Man. I’ve heard Mr. Bungle recorded most of that, their first album, while still in high-school. That was Squeeze Me Macaroni. Before that we were graced with Ms. Dee Dee Sharp and her desire for Gravy (For My Mashed Potatoes). Prior to which we heard that comedic Monster, Dylan Moran.

If one thinks about it, our culture is quite structured around food. When we get together with friends or for meetings it’s usually at; dinners, lunches, brunches, or around food of some kind. Which makes things difficult for those who have a hard time scrounging money for large feasts. Or who have an eating disorder, or difficult time around food for whatever reason. But most of us are lucky enough to be able to take food for granted. Hell, it’s obscene the amount of food we throw away. And many places rather lock up their dumpsters and prosecute anyone who dives into them instead of reducing selling “day-olds” or donating. So I suppose that’s a nice and friendly reminder to donating money, food, or time to our local food pantries, banks, or shelters. Besides helping is probably almost as good for us, as it is those brave enough to ask for help. This is more in line with what the UN had in mind when they declared today World Food Day. So the next next few tracks will be about that. So buckle-in we’re gonna start off with The Bunny The Bear’s Eating Disorder.

Okay all you wonderful souls, I just wan to thank you yet again for keeping this connection, it means the world to me. And I hope that you are taking proper care of yourself, treating yourself right, and doing everything in your power to help yourself happy and healthy. Because you deserve that, and can’t really help anyone else if your not in the shape to. So I hope you are all nourishing, growing, sustaining, together and leaving the world and each other better than you found them. Because that is how we improve ourselves and everything. So, Intill next time or never, whichever comes first. Ive been Rev. You’ve pretty fucking perfect, and We’re aurally fixated.
